This little structure is an addition to a 20th century home in the suburbs. The new space features a dine-in kitchen on the ground floor and a guest suite upstairs. The spaces between the old and new buildings creates a micro courtyard.

The addition strategy was chosen to minimize disruption of the existing home. This keeps costs under control and complements the architecture of the original home rather than distorting it into an uncharacteristically large volume.
